The Role

This is a superb opportunity for an experienced IT support professional who is self-motivated and adaptable to join a small team focused on the support of existing services, whilst developing modern technology based solutions.  The role will be involved in developing custom solutions using new and emergent technologies.

This role reports to the Solutions Manager and sits within the busy IT Services department of the University. We are a small, friendly, team who support Ravensbourne’s strategy to provide a provocative, technology driven dynamic learning environment.

The Candidate

Suitably qualified, you will have experience in delivering and supporting services in a mixed Windows & Apple Mac environment.   An understanding of the operation, support and development of Audio Visual technology would be advantageous to this role.

Experience of regular face to face engagement with key stakeholders will be an advantage.

Ideally candidates will have previous experience of working within Higher Education, although this is not essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 2nd/3rd line support of Windows and Mac devices including troubleshooting complex faults with software and hardware
  • Manage the client environment with centralised tools (Intune, SCCM and AD)
  • Desktop and Enterprise application management - Install, Configure, Licence Secure, upgrade and support. Renewal and procurement of software.
  • Office 365 Systems Administration – Management of operational administration activities including provisioning, configuration, security and licencing.
  • Device Support – Working with suppliers and vendors to support specialised hardware (Laptop Lockers, Smart Campus and IOT Devices, Digital Signage displays). Asset management of end user devices.
  • Solutions Development – Building custom solutions to solve business problems or innovate business processes (i.e. Interactive chat bots, Automation of workflows, PowerApps etc)
  • Creation of end user and system administrator documentation
  • Providing training and guidance on the use of current and new technologies
  • Operational testing of new technologies and products prior to adoption.
